Why now & How does this campaign work?
A. Running an operation like Chabad SW Broward requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While we work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the day-to-day expenses of operating a Chabad center can be daunting. No person is ever turned away from any service or event for lack of funds.
We therefore rely on the generosity and support of individuals such as yourself to help us provide the vital services we provide.
B. Chabad SWB is also unique in that we are always on the forefront of cutting edge community wide events, such as our Jewish Heritage Night with the Miami Heat, Passover food distribution to the needy and many similar programs that touch the lives of many beyond the borders of the Southwest Broward community.
C. Finally, as you may have heard, we are in contract to purchase a most magnificent 6.5 acre property, the former High Point Rehab Center with 5 buildings, 36,000+ sq. ft., a pool, lake ... which will be the new center of Jewish life in the area, providing many more needed programs and services such as, synagogue, school, day care, wedding hall, retreat, mikvah and so much more.
Although we are in the process of the required rezoning of the property and working with a professional company to create a major Capital Campaign, funds are sorely needed at this point to cover the needed schedule of down payments and zoning fees. Every dollar earmarked for the building will go directly to the Building Fund and used entirely for the purchase of the new campus.
To that end, several generous donors have already come forward to help Chabad with this "Last Chance - First Chance" Campaign.
